Bear (A143390) is a 2-year-old pittie who weighed over 50 lbs at intake!09/12/26 This incredibly handsome cuddlebug is Bear! Bear was surrendered to the shelter because he needs help with his training, including potty training. Bear is an incredibly affectionate dog who loves his people deeply. He can be shy around strangers, but once he gets comfortable, you will never be lonely ever again. Bear was said to be kennel trained. He is looking for a patient home that can help him with basic obedience and becoming housebroken. Bear can be rough when playing, so please keep this in mind. He wasx also said to chase cats (and the cats in his previous home tried to put him in his place, but he never learned). It would be best that he go to a home without cats. Bear was said to do well with kids and other dogs, but please make sure introductions are done in a slow and controlled manner to allow for the best possible outcome. And please keep in mind, that he can play rough, which may not be appreciated by some dogs and probably by most kids. Bear has been known to dig, chew and get into the trash when given the chance. He has also been known to jump fences. He is quite the velcro dog though! Providing him with plenty of enrichment and appropriate chew toys is a good way to channel these behaviors productively. If you are interested in meeting Bear, please give the shelter a call!
