We love Capri, and we know you will, too!
Capri is about 2-3 months old, and she is an adorable pup full of personality. She is the biggest t of her litter and has the most beautiful, thick fur coat. Capri is looking for a semi-active home that can keep up with her puppy antics and continue her much-needed socialization and training. Bleu weighs about 4-5 pounds, and we estimate that she will be around 20-25lbs when fully grown.
Capri and her siblings were a surprise arrival to the rescue. We rescued their mom, Grilled Cheese, from our local animal shelter and quickly found that she was pregnant. Days later, Cheese gave birth to 4 healthy puppies in her foster home. The puppies are now weaned and ready to start their new lives with their fur-ever families. We are looking for individual homes for all of the puppies so that they can get the one-on-one care and training that they need to thrive.
The puppies' mom is a 10lb scruffy terrier mix. Based on the puppies' coats, we suspect dad was a poodle mix.
Capri is a curious and affectionate little girl. She loves making new friends and exploring, and is always down for some playtime. She would make a wonderful companion for someone who wants a little buddy to tag along for errands and cozy up with them at night. She isn't vaccinated enough for walks yet, but we think she will love being able to venture out into the world. Capri is still working on all of her basic manners, so she needs a family committed to helping her learn. She would love going to group puppy classes!
Capri was raised in a foster home with lots of dogs of all ages and sizes. She loves making dog buddies, so she would be a great playful litter sister for a young dog, but also could do well as an only dog. Capri was raised with dog-savvy cats and could do well in a home with kitties after a slow introduction and proper supervision. Capri could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older.
Capri is still working on her housetraining, so her new family will need to be consistent with continuing her training and be patient with her while she is learning. She is used to sleeping in a crate at night and hanging out in a pen with one of her sisters for short periods during the day. She has never been truly alone, so she will need a family who can slowly acclimate her to being alone.
Capri has fur that will likely require regular professional grooming to maintain. Her new family should be prepared for that extra cost for her care.
Capri is such an amazing little puppy, and she is going to bring so much joy to her new family. If you think that might be you, submit an application today!
Capri's adoption fee is $500.
Apply to adopt here! It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application.
The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes.
Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
