Rivendell is quite possibly the most perfect, independent, fierce, friendly, picky little queen you’ve ever met. We think she’s only about one year old, and talk about babies having babies. Rivendell was living the street-cat life with a community of alley cats when she was trapped to be rescued, spayed, and hopefully find a home. Except Rivendell had other plans. She gave birth to four kittens on the very day she was supposed to be spayed. Surprise! And all four kittens were boys. Four. Boy. Kittens. Talk about exhausting.She has been an excellent mama, but she is READY to retire from motherhood and finally get to be her own cat. She had her babies while she was basically still a baby herself, and now she would very much like to spend the rest of her life being spoiled, adored, and generally allowed to do whatever she wants. And she has opinions.Rivendell is extremely food motivated and extremely picky. She likes pâté. She also enjoys dry food. But when it comes to wet food? Do not waste this woman’s time with shreds. That is an insult to her integrity, and she will not be accepting apologies.She is hilarious, affectionate, and incredibly sweet. She loves being pet, purrs basically nonstop, rubs all over her people, and loves lounging near her humans. She hasn’t met a person she doesn’t immediately like. Her response to humans is essentially, “Hi! We’re best friends now.”When it comes to other animals, though, Rivendell appears to have a different philosophy. So far, she has not been a fan of the other adult cats in her foster home, and we suspect she would be happiest as an only cat. She may eventually decide other animals are acceptable, but right now she seems pretty committed to the independent-queen lifestyle. And honestly? We respect it.Rivendell would thrive with someone who wants one fabulous cat to spoil rotten. A single person or DINK household could be a perfect fit. Someone who will give her attention when she wants it, space when she wants it, excellent pâté, and a comfortable place beside them where she can be worshipped appropriately.She is the kind of cat who is going to settle into her new routine, figure out exactly how the household works, and then completely own it. She raised four kittens. (She’s been spayed now!) She survived the streets. She knows what she wants. And what she wants now is to be somebody’s spoiled, adored, only-cat queen.
