DOB 4/20/22 (Buddy); DOB 2/29/25 (Pina)
Hey there, everyone! We’re Buddy and Pina, a pair of bonded soulmates whose romance began at Foster Meowmy’s next-door neighbor’s community-cat feeding station. About three months after we met, we wandered together over to Foster Meowmy’s back yard in East Houston, and she was kind enough to bring us both inside when the February arctic freeze hit.
Buddy says, “I’m a big, gentle, calm, and affectionate brown tabby Maine Coon fella who luxuriates when Foster Meowmy scratches my ears, rubs my belly, and brushes the long locks on my wispy mane, body, and flowing tail. I’m rather a lethargic couch potato, and sleeping peacefully on Foster Meowmy’s chest is one of my favorite pastimes.”
Pina says, “I’m a cuddly and sweet but spicy and energetic tortoiseshell gal who flaunts my proverbial “tortitude” with flair and offers my opinions with confident panache. I know that I’d disappoint you if I didn’t live up to the tortie’s reputation of sassiness when being affectionate with my hoomans -- on my terms, of course.”
Although we’re both pretty asymptomatic, we both are classified as having special needs. Buddy says, “I tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV+), which I probably contracted from the deep bite wound from an intact male cat. (Unlike Feline Leukemia, FIV is NOT passed on "casually" by sharing food bowls and litter boxes with other household cats.) Being FIV positive doesn’t stop me from living my best life as long as my dental health is routinely monitored and prompt attention is given to any urinary-tract or upper-respiratory infections.”
Pina says, “Just before the February arctic freeze, Foster Meowmy found me collapsed and unresponsive in her backyard. She rushed me to the vet, who diagnosed and successfully treated me for a respiratory infection, and I still occasionally suffer from asthma as a leftover result of that nasty infection. To this day, I gratefully owe my life to Foster Meowmy.”
Although we both have stolen Foster Meowmy’s heart, we think it’s time for us to let her resident cats bask in her unshared attention and to find a forever family of very own. We think it’d be the cat’s meow if we could be playmates and cuddle buddies while you’re at work or on vacation – and that arrangement probably works out best for you anyway!

Buddy and Pina’s $250 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites.
