Suki arrived at the shelter from the city pound on 8/31/2026, after she completed her legal stray hold. She's very happy and energetic - a sweet, little mop top. She seems to be around a year old and could be a mix of at least shih tzu and yorkie ("shorkie") and did come to us needing to be shaved down due to bad matting. She will be spayed, vet checked, and vaccinated on Sept. 15th, and, because it is necessary for her comfort and health, her matted hair will have to be shaved very short by the vet staff. Her fee is $150.
Suki will need some basic training, and she is definitely a younger dog who is quite vocal and active. She's looking for a home with some experience with long-haired dogs and their grooming needs, as grooming is incredibly important for dogs like Suki and it is also an added expense. We do think she'd do okay with another smaller dog and most likely cats, too. Kids over 5 would be best as she is on the small side. She would love a home in which she's not left alone for long hours.
NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved.
