[YELLOW]Background: Brought in stray by finder on 8/15/26. Finder did not provide any information for the dog. On intake, staff noted dog was bx00#28;highly stressed. Low growled when leashing but able to loop leash. Once out she tolerated intake handling but was wary of touch. Very hard to kennel, kept trying to squeeze out. She did seem to warm up a little and responded to 'sit.'bx00#29; Given Blue dot on intake. Handling notes are a summary of most recent observations from Staff handler and two Crew volunteer handlers.B B O: In kennel dog greets handlers with wide, loose wagging tail. Hops up with front paws on the kennel door. Soft eyes, pricked ears. Gets down with all four feet on the floor for leashing. May be slightly leash avoidant for some handlers, but comes right out for others. Loose, relaxed body language, neutral posture walking through the building with loose leash. Dropped leash in the yard. Immediately engages with handler. Urinates. Some jumping and light mouthing of arms. Sits when asked. Takes treats with soft mouth. Leans into pets all over head, neck, chest, shoulders, back, with soft face relaxed musculature. Follows and picks up toys but no sustained play. Stays in close proximity to handlers throughout outings. Walks with loose leash back to kennel. Tries to push her nose back out of the kennel. Handlers remove slip leash by hand without issue.A: Very affiliative. Seeks close proximity to handler and shows enjoyment with pets. Presents as medium energy. Walks well on leash. Is playful and engages in handler directed play with or without toys. Knows sit. Yellow for volunteer handling d/t some jumpy/mouthy behavior and resistance to rekenneling.B P: Make available for adoption. Recommend slow and structured introduction to strangers and new environments. Dog may require additional time to decompress after adoption. Adopters should continue to work on basic manners (leash skills, recall, sit) using a patient, reward-based training approach. Unknown how this dog may behave around children, however, environmental sensitivity may make a home with young children less suitable.B [2026-08-20 20:33:00.000]
