Meet Bobo, a handsome gray-and-white gentleman who is ready for a fresh start! At just 5 years old, he has plenty of life and love ahead of him.Through no fault of his own, Bobo found himself looking for a new family. While getting to know him and providing his veterinary care, we discovered that he tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).FIV can sound scary, but an FIV-positive diagnosis does not mean that a cat is sick or that he can't live a long, happy life. Many FIV-positive cats live for years with a great quality of life.FIV primarily affects a cat's immune system. FIV-positive cats can be more susceptible to certain infections, so regular veterinary care, a healthy diet, keeping them indoors, and watching for signs of illness are especially important.FIV is specific to cats and cannot infect people, dogs, or other non-feline pets.Because Bobo is FIV positive, his new family should discuss his individual needs with their veterinarian and provide him with regular wellness care. But an FIV diagnosis shouldn't prevent Bobo from being a wonderful companion.Bobo is looking for someone who will see the cat behind the diagnosis and give him the loving home he deserves.
