NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
NEW INTAKE 8/8/2026: Harmony - female - we were told she is 8 years old, but we think she's probably more like 10+ years old - 8.4 pounds - Maltese/Poodle
Reason for intake: We were tagged multiple times in a social media post about a Maltese / Poodle mix needing immediate help. Sadly, the owner is in poor health... initially in the hospital and now in a long-term care facility. She has not been able to properly care for Harmony for a long time. Please NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS as we go over her condition. She has two very infected ears... both spewing pus... which has also moved to her eyes. The missing hair on her face is likely due to her rubbing her face because of the ear infections; however, we are going to have our vet do a skin scrape to rule out any type of mange. She has lots of matting all around her body and what appears to be urine, feces and drainage from her ears mixed into the matting. Her nails were extremely long as well. Her ears seem to be the most pressing issue, though. It must be very painful and uncomfortable for her. We were told she's spayed, but we'll contact the vet she saw from time-to-time to confirm that. She's heading to our vet the week of 8/10/2026. This little girl is going to feel so much better very soon. If you'd like to donate to her care, click on the donate button on this post (via Facebook) or donate at https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/NR2R.
NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
