Say hello to Chase, a handsome, 1-year-old chonky boy weighing in at about 11 pounds! With his big, expressive eyes and sweet personality, Chase is an incredibly lovable cat â he just needs a little time and patience before he shows you exactly how much love he has to give.
Chase is shy and cautious with new people and may take a while to feel comfortable in a new home. He isnât the type of cat who will immediately climb into a strangerâs lap, and he does not enjoy being picked up. But give him the time and space to build trust on his own terms, and youâll get to see a completely different side of him. Once Chase decides youâre his person, he becomes absolutely obsessed with you and forms a very strong, affectionate bond.
Chase also loves other cats and really benefits from having feline companionship. Because he struggles with separation anxiety, his ideal home will have another friendly, playful cat who can keep him company, play with him, and help him feel secure when his people arenât around. Chase loves interacting with other cats, but his companion should have a sweet, playful temperament that matches his own.
Heâs a playful, food-motivated boy who loves toys, scratching posts, treats, and spending time with his feline friends. He is litterbox trained and has great indoor manners. His love of food also makes treats a great way to earn his trust and help him settle into a new routine.
Because Chase can be nervous around new people and needs a calm environment where he can adjust at his own pace, he is not a good fit for a home with children. He is also not good with dogs. His perfect adopter will be someone patient and understanding who wonât expect him to be affectionate right away or force interactions before heâs ready.
A quiet space of his own at first will help Chase decompress and learn that his new home is safe. With patience, consistency, plenty of treats, and a friendly cat by his side, his sweet personality will begin to shine.
