Meet Ellie!
Ellie is a beautiful 2-year-old Giant Schnauzer who currently weighs around 75 pounds. She's beginning a healthy weight-loss journey and would benefit from losing about 10 pounds to reach her ideal weight—but who among us couldn't benefit from a few extra walks?
Ellie is a very sweet girl who is just settling into her foster home, and so far she has been friendly, gentle, and eager to please. She is both house trained and crate trained, making the transition into her forever home that much easier.
Ellie has lived with children and has experience being part of a family. She also rides very well in the car when crated, making her a great companion for road trips, errands, or weekend adventures.
Because of her prey drive, Ellie is not a good fit for a home with cats or farm animals. She will do best in a home where she can safely enjoy life without the temptation to chase smaller animals.
As she's still getting comfortable in her foster home, we're continuing to learn more about her personality each day and will update her profile as we get to know this wonderful girl better.
If you're looking for a loyal, intelligent companion with a sweet disposition, Ellie may be the perfect addition to your family. We can't wait to watch her confidence grow as she settles into her new life!
If you are interested in adopting Ellie, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.
**Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **
