Overview
Looking for a happy-go-lucky guy who will greet every single day, and every single person, with a huge smile? Meet Goose, a 2 and a half year old purebred dachshund weighing 18 pounds, with a striking black and tan long coat.
Goose came to Little Paws as an owner surrender, and he has wasted no time settling in and winning hearts. His foster says it best: he always seems to be smiling. He is affectionate, easygoing, and truly never meets a stranger, and he especially loves climbing into a lap for some one on one cuddle time.
Environment
Goose is a high-energy guy who thrives on daily walks and playtime, and he is great on the leash. He is well potty trained and does well both on pads and outside, and he does best with access to a fenced yard. He does not need a crate; his foster simply gives him a secure space to relax in. He had a little trouble settling in his first few nights, barking in the middle of the night, but he quickly adjusted and has been solid ever since, especially with some canine company to keep him settled. He has done well with several hours alone during the day without any accidents or anxiety, and he rides happily in the car.
Pets & People
Goose adores people of all kinds and soaks up attention from everyone he meets. He will give a friendly bark and a wagging tail to greet newcomers, all bark and no bite. He gets along wonderfully with his foster's resident pups, gentle and happily submissive even though he's about twice their size. At mealtime he is polite and gentle, never snatchy with treats. He hasn't spent time around children yet, but between his friendly nature and gentle manners, he seems like he'd do well with the right introduction.
