Oatie is Feline Leukemia (FeLV) positive, meaning he has a feline-only virus that affects only other cats (but not people or other animals).
He is NOT sick – simply positive for the virus. Many FeLV+ cats feel perfectly healthy and live happy lives for years! If illness does develop later, it’s due to how FeLV can affect the immune system over time, which can lead to a shorter overall lifespan.
