Daphne came to our shelter with swimmer syndrome, a condition that causes her legs to splay out, making it difficult for her to stand or walk. The good news is that swimmer syndrome can often be successfully treated, especially when caught early. The challenge is that recovery requires intensive daily physical therapy, specialized care, and lots of hands-on time.Unfortunately, our shelter isn't equipped to provide the level of rehabilitation Daphne needs. This animal is at risk for euthanasia. If you are interested in helping, please email dasadopt@dallas.gov with your contact information so we can call you back.
