Dude is in need of rescue.07/19/26 10:38What I did today:Dude, the gentle giant, who his human friends believe is an Anatolian Shepherd mix, enjoyed a 3.5-mile walk at Fontana Park. Even though he's a big boy, Dude is as gentle as they come. He wasn't reactive to other dogs, squirrels, birds, children, or bikes. With his calm demeanor, he simply enjoyed every moment of the walk, taking in all the sights, sounds, and smells. He truly is the sweetest, gentlest giant.What to know about this dog:⢠Excellent leash manners â he never pulled once, he may occasionally cross in front of you to investigate an interesting scent, but he remains easy to manage and responsive⢠Not reactive to dogs, birds or squirrels - walked past many dogs without any issues, including two dogs barking intensely, and remained calm throughout - completely ignored birds and squirrels⢠Intelligent and trainable - knows the following cues: sit, look, touch â very treat-motivated (which was used to get him into the car) and takes treats gently⢠Allows full handling of his paws, ears, face, belly and tailThree words to describe me:Gentle, sweet, calm05/21/26 12:23Barking at front of kennel, when I began speaking he stopped and wagged tail, easy to leash and take out; big improvement from yesterday.Took to side yard and introduced to cootie, did great, was nervous at first when cootie wanted to play chase but warmed up quickly.Able to complete full invasive handling. Needs kennel cover due to barrier reactivity.05/20/26 15:19FAS 4 in kennel.Nervous in kennel, barking at kennel at first when approached. Able to coax out after showing leash and closing kennel divider. Interested in treats, Took approx 3 min to start warming up to me. We were able to vaccinate using minimal restraint. Less interest in treats after vaccinating due to stress. Dog was very stiff during time out of kennel, lip licks but did not attempt to head flip or bite. Body loosened briefly when introduced to a dog through kennel.Responds well to HV treats.05/20/26 16:17Extremely poor kennel presence, snarling and lunging at kennel door.
