Let us introduce you to this special boy. Blackie came to Starfish Animal Rescue in May. Blackie was at first so scared and anxious that we knew he just needed time to decompress and trust. That worked like a charm!
Today, we know the real Blackie (also lovingly called “Shadow”):
• When he bonds with his person, he becomes their shadow—loyal and always by your side
• He needs patience, understanding, and love to truly thrive
• About 1.5 years old and weighs around 40 lbs
• Fully housebroken
• Crate trained (though he’d much rather be with you!)
• Loves dogs his size, but is not suited for homes with small dogs
Blackie is ready for a fresh start with someone who will accept him, fears and all. He would love a home where he can go on walks (he does amazing on a leash!) and spend plenty of time with his person.

The adoption fee of $300 will include spay/neuter, microchip,
age-appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm, and any other necessary medical treatment to ensure
a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe the breed, since our pups all come from shelters, we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed!
