Meet Ghost!
A spirited three-year-old XL Bully currently in Van Buren Township, MI, whose essence is a radiant blend of loyalty wrapped in a striking white and blue coat. He is the kind of companion who forms deep bonds and thrives when he has someone to love.
Ghost is much more than a playful dog. He has already shown remarkable intuition by alerting and physically helping his guardian during a medical emergency, giving her the support she needed to reach help! He also gently assists her out of bed by responding to simple cues, showing an incredible willingness to work alongside the people he loves. While he has not received formal obedience classes, he knows basic commands, comes when called, enjoys learning, and is highly food motivated, making continued training with positive reinforcement an exciting opportunity.
When playtime begins, Ghost lights up! Squeaky toys are his greatest weakness, even if the fabric does not survive for long. Balls, frisbees, car rides, and time with his family are all high on his list of favorite activities. At home he is completely house-trained, healthy, enjoys free access to food and fresh water, and quietly relaxes when left alone for short periods.
Ghost needs a patient family who understands that he is undersocialized after spending much of his life focused on helping his guardian. Around strangers he may bark and lunge, so he wears a muzzle in public as a thoughtful safety precaution. He has never bitten anyone. Careful introductions, ongoing socialization, and a calm environment, especially in a quieter or more rural setting, will help him continue building confidence. He is wonderful with his guardian's teenage sons, and with time and thoughtful guidance, he may also do well with children. Ghost will be neutered prior to placement in his new home.
