Benji — The Good Boy Who Waited Faithfully
Benji came into Safe Pet Project’s care the last week of July after spending days patiently waiting at a local church for his family to return. Sadly, they never came back — but kind parishioners kept him fed and loved until we could step in to help.
At his first vet visit, Benji was determined to be a puppy about 5 months old, still sporting his baby teeth and weighing 35 pounds. He’s believed to be a Lab mix, possibly blended with a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier — a combination that gives him that adorable scruffy face and gentle nature.
It’s hard to imagine anyone abandoning such a well‑behaved boy. Benji already knows basic commands, goes to the door when he needs to potty, and sleeps quietly in his crate at night. He loves to play fetch, gets along with all dogs and kids, and may do fine with cats given a proper introduction.
His core puppy vaccines, neuter, and microchip are included in his adoption fee — even if adopted before those services are due. All veterinary care will be provided in Blairsville, GA.
