Introducing Roo! This charming 10.5-year-old, 16.5 lb Corgi / Chihuahua mix is proof that senior dogs still know how to have fun. Most of the time, Roo is a laid-back, easygoing companion who is happy to relax nearby and keep an eye on the household. When he's excited, especially first thing in the morning or after a walk, he bursts into a joyful little spinning "buckaroo" dance before quickly settling back into his calm self. Once you see his signature bucking, you'll be smiling right along with him. Roo has a wonderfully manageable energy level. A good morning walk and an evening stroll help keep him happy, and in between he's content to enjoy belly rubs, head scratches, cozy naps, and the occasional cookie. He has the softest ears, a sweet expression, and a gentle way of looking at his people that makes it hard not to fall in love. Roo is housetrained, crate trained, and knows several basic commands, including sit and come. He walks nicely on a leash and rides well in the car, making him an easy companion for outings and errands. He has lived comfortably around a cat, is good with other dogs, and has been polite and well-behaved when out and about meeting new people. He is fostered with Annie the Pekingese mix, as they ended up in foster care after their owner passed away. Like many dogs his age, Roo is carrying a few extra pounds and recently had some dental work completed. He's feeling great and ready to enjoy the next chapter of his life with a family of his own. Roo would likely fit into many types of homes. Because his enthusiastic "buckaroo" dance can occasionally get underfoot, he may be happiest in a home with people who are steady on their feet and can appreciate his playful bursts of excitement.
