Bio: Elvie is a charming little lady with puppy energy. While she does get a tad nervous initially meeting new people, she is a social butterfly within a moment’s time. She loves other dogs- but needs continued dedication to helping her learn other dog’s cues when they don’t want to play. Mellow senior dogs do not appreciate her shenanigans, so if there are other canines in the home, they should be the playful type.
Elvie can get barky when looking out windows, if guests arrive, or with loud noises which should be kept in mind if you share a wall with neighbors.
She walks well on a leash, but becomes very stubborn and will plunk down once she realizes she is at the vet. She does amazing for car rides and curls up on the seat for the duration of the trip.
Elvie needs to be watched closely outdoors, as she is very curious and will pick up wood chips, rocks, grass clippings, etc. While she is kid friendly, any itty bitty pieces being left around the house such as legos, or food dogs shouldn’t have being dropped is a concern.
Elvie kennels well, but is a snuggler and we request that any interested parties be willing to let her join them in bed at night.
Elvie is doing amazing with pottying outside, but could have some accidents moving to a new place as any dog may.
Elvie loves to run and play with toys, and is very food and treat motivated. Her foster will send her home with a slow feeder as she tends to eat very fast.
She will require regular groomings.
