Training, Adjustment & What to Expect
Moving into a new home is a major change for any rescue dog. Roxy may need a little time to adjust to unfamiliar surroundings, new routines, and different experiences.
Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule:
3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe
3 Weeks to learn your household routine
3 Months to fully settle into family life
Roxy is intelligent and eager to please, making her an excellent candidate for continued positive reinforcement training.
Her new family should continue providing:
Positive reinforcement training
Daily exercise and interactive play
Consistent routines and gentle structure
Continued socialization with people and other animals
Mental enrichment through toys and games
Plenty of love, patience, and encouragement
With kindness and consistency, Roxy will quickly blossom into a loyal, confident companion who will happily share life's adventures by your side.
Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care
Adopting Roxy is a lifelong commitment that includes providing proper veterinary care, exercise, companionship, and a loving home.
As part of responsible pet ownership, Roxy will need:
Annual veterinary wellness examinations
Routine vaccinations as recommended by your veterinarian
Monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention
A nutritious diet to maintain a healthy weight
Daily physical exercise and mental enrichment
Continued training and socialization
A safe, loving indoor home where she is treated as a cherished member of the family
We recommend scheduling a wellness examination with your veterinarian shortly after adoption to establish care and ensure Roxy continues to live a long, healthy, and happy life.
