Say “Hello, Dolly!” As you can see from her photos, Dolly is a beautiful sheltie mix. Her DNA results are still pending, so we’re not sure what else is in the mix, but whatever it is, it created one wonderful dog. She is 2 yrs old.
Dolly loves to meet other dogs and humans. She happily greets strangers with a wagging tail and an enthusiastic jump to ask for pets. Her foster is helping Dolly channel those spring-loaded legs into more polite greetings.
Dolly enjoys the company of both people and other dogs. She plays a bit full-on, so she may be the best fit for a home with older children. Food is the great motivator, and Dolly is eager to learn. In just one week with her foster, she learned several basic commands. Since she still needs to put on a few more pounds, treat-based training is a win-win.
When her foster mom is up and about, Dolly is right by her side. When she is sitting down, Dolly can be found lying on her feet. Toys are still a new adventure for Dolly. At first, she wasn’t quite sure what they were for, so now when she seeks them out, she sometimes looks to her foster’s sheltie for a little demonstration on how to enjoy them.
Good-natured, loving Dolly is looking for her forever home and can’t wait to wag her tail when she is finally where she belongs.
