Bruiser is a very handsome Shar Pei/Chow mix who is looking for a new home as his mom is moving and cannot take him along. Bruiser is about 55 lbs and 6 years old. He is not particularly energetic and has been used to being alone for very long days while his mom works long hours. He is housebroken and nondestructive. Bruiser has never lived with another dog, and seems indifferent and unreactive to other dogs, cats or squirrels at a distance. Close up, he seemed very interested in meeting our helper dog. He may be able to be with the right dog but it is unknown for sure. Bruiser is good in the car and for baths. He plays with some toys and loves his blanket. He is a little cautious with strangers but great with children. In the house, he is a velcro dog- following his mom everywhere and looking for cuddles and affection. He walks nicely on leash. This beautiful, sweet boy is low maintenance and deserves less time alone, and in return could be your best bud and constant companion.
Note: Bruiser is coming to us through our owner surrender program. He will remain under the care of their owner until they are officially transferred to Wag On Inn to an approved foster or adopter. Bruiser is neutered, up to date in his rabies vaccine, and will be microchipped and brought up to date on all vaccines prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $500.
Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home.
