Meet Kennedy, a sweet, gentle pup who somehow manages to trip over his own enthusiasm during every game of fetch. This six-month-old Australian Shepherd and Great Pyrenees mix weighs about 36 pounds and brings a fun mix of traits from both sides of his family. The Pyrenees in him gives him a calm, easygoing streak, while the Aussie side shows up in his playful habit of herding your legs as you walk. He is medium energy, eager to learn, and genuinely funny to watch in action, especially when he overruns his ball and tumbles before proudly bringing it back.
Kennedy is doing wonderfully with housetraining and sleeps quietly through the night in his crate without any fuss. He already knows sit and will happily go into his crate for a treat, and he picked up on using a doggy door in no time. He walks nicely on a leash on his own, though he gets a bit more enthusiastic on leash when walking alongside another dog. He gets along well with the resident dog in his foster home and is curious and gentle around livestock. He is a little overly enthusiastic with the resident cat, more pushy than aggressive, so a home without cats or one willing to help him learn some manners would suit him best. He has done great meeting new people, happily accepting hugs from a toddler and pets from strangers alike. Kennedy would do well in just about any home with a fenced yard and someone willing to keep up his training. He is playful, friendly, and full of heart. If you are looking for a goofy, affectionate companion who is eager to learn and just as eager to love, Kennedy would be thrilled to meet you.
