If happiness had four paws, it would look a lot like Gilligan. This sweet little Yorkie mix is pure joy wrapped up in a fluffy package. He’s goofy, affectionate, and has a way of making everyone around him smile. Whether he’s handing out kisses, asking for hugs, or bouncing around with his dog friends, Gilligan approaches every day with a happy heart.
People are his favorite, and he especially adores his foster mom. He’s her little shadow, happily following her from room to room just to be part of whatever she’s doing. Gilligan also has a charming neighborhood routine—every time he heads outside, he eagerly checks to see if the neighbor is out, patiently waiting in hopes of collecting one of his favorite treats. It’s become one of the highlights of his day!
Gilligan absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful canine companion. His favorite playmate is his tiny 3-pound Yorkie foster sibling, and he’s the ultimate copycat, always joining in whatever his foster brothers and sisters are doing. Whether it’s exploring the yard, playing together, or settling in for a nap, he loves being part of the pack.
This happy little guy is crate trained, is making wonderful progress with his potty training, and is very close to being fully house-trained when kept on a consistent schedule. He’s also working on his leash skills and continues to gain confidence with each walk.
Gilligan is the kind of dog who makes a house feel like home. His affectionate nature, joyful spirit, and endless supply of hugs and kisses make him an easy dog to fall in love with. He’s ready to find a family who will cherish him, laugh at his silly antics, and let him be the devoted companion he was born to be.
Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.
