Blue #4 | 5-month-old, 25-pound mixed breed | A playful sweetheart with a gentle soul
Blue is the perfect combination of playful puppy and calm cuddle buddy. At just 5 months old and 25 pounds, she's a great medium-sized pup with plenty of growing left to do. This sweet girl loves spending time with her people and canine friends, whether she's playing tug-of-war, chewing on a squeaky toy, going for a walk, riding in the car, or rolling over for a well-earned belly rub. She's friendly with everyone she meets and has done wonderfully with young children, making her a great fit for many different types of families.
Blue gets along beautifully with other dogs. While she was a little shy when she first met her foster family's resident dog, it only took a few days before the two became inseparable playmates. They now spend much of the day playing together, and her foster believes she'd thrive in a home with another playful dog to help keep her company and build her confidence.
She's making excellent progress with both house training and crate training. Blue is almost fully house trained, typically asking to go outside when the door is available and using a potty pad if she can't get out. She sleeps through most nights in her crate and settles nicely when left alone for a couple of hours, especially if another dog is nearby. She's still a puppy, so her new family should expect to continue reinforcing good habits and basic training.
Blue has a medium energy level and is happy with a couple of walks or play sessions each day before settling down to relax. She's motivated by toys and affection more than treats, so training will likely be most successful with praise, play, and lots of encouragement. She can be a little barky when someone approaches the house, but it's limited to alerting her family and doesn't last long.
The ideal home for Blue is one with another friendly dog who enjoys playing and can show her the ropes. She would also do well in a home with children, thanks to her gentle, easygoing nature and the fact that she doesn't nip or overwhelm little ones the way many puppies do. Her new family should also be prepared to help her find a food she loves, as she's a bit of a picky eater.
If you're looking for a sweet, playful companion who's just as happy chasing toys as she is snuggling up for belly rubs, Blue may be the perfect addition to your family.
