Meet CyrusWhen Cyrus first arrived at our shelter, his future was uncertain. He came to us severely emaciated, neglected, and in desperate need of medical care. His tail was so badly injured that it had to be amputated. Countless veterinary appointments, medications, follow-up care, and lots of love helped this sweet boy begin to heal. Day by day, Cyrus grew stronger, healthier, and started showing us the happy dog that had been there all along. We were thrilled when Cyrus was given a second chance and went home. Unfortunately, despite everyone's best efforts, his adopters realized they couldn't manage his ongoing medical needs and separation anxiety, and they made the difficult decision to return him to us.Now Cyrus is back where his journey started. The shelter isn't where Cyrus wants to be. Kennel life has been especially hard on him. He's happiest when he's close to his people, leaning against your leg, following you from room to room, and reminding you that you're never alone. His tail may be shorter now, but it still wiggles with excitement every time he sees someone he loves.Cyrus is still on medication while he continues to recover, and he'll need a family willing to help him through the next chapter of his healing. What he gives back in return is immeasurableâa loyal, affectionate companion with a heart full of love and an incredible will to keep going.Cyrus doesn't need someone perfect. He just needs someone who won't give up on him.A medical foster would be an incredible gift for Cyrus while he continues his recovery, and of course, we're hoping his forever family is out there too. After everything he's overcome, this resilient boy deserves the happy ending he's been waiting for.Could you be the person who finally gives Cyrus the home he's fought so hard for?65lbsIf you are interested in meeting Chief, please visit the shelter during open adoption hours:Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 10 AMâ12:30 PM & 2 PMâ4 PMThursday: 10 AMâ12:30 PM & 2 PMâ6:30 PMSaturday: 9 AMâ1 PMIf you do not own your home, please bring written consent from the property owner allowing a dog on the property.
