Rain Foster Update Rain has really started to settle into foster care, and it's been wonderful watching her personality bloom. When she first arrived, she was very shy and cautious. New noises were scary, and she took her time learning that she was safe. Now that she's comfortable, her true personality has come outâand she's an absolute goofball! She's full of silly puppy energy, loves to play, and always seems happiest when she has a toy or chew bone in her mouth. She recently rang the bells to ask to go outside, which was a huge accomplishment! She's still working on her potty routine, but she's making progress every day. Rain is very food motivated, already knows sit, recognizes the word treat, and will benefit from continued basic training. She's still recovering from her spay, so she hasn't been able to run freely until recently. The first time she got to stretch her legs, she looked absolutely thrilled, racing around with a toy in her mouth and soaking up every second.Rain has formed a special bond with the foster's 14-year-old and is incredibly loyal once she trusts you. She can be unsure of new people at first, but with patience and time, she continues to gain confidence. Because she's become such an energetic puppy, she may be a bit much for very young children right now.A fenced yard would be a wonderful bonus for Rain, giving her a safe place to burn off all that puppy energy. She has also shown a strong interest in the foster's cat and has tried to chase them, so a home without cats or with someone experienced in slow introductions would likely be the best fit.One area she'll need help with is separation anxiety. She's comfortable relaxing in her crate when people are home, but when left alone, she becomes distressed and has barked, scratched at the crate, and even had accidents. With time, consistency, and training, this is something her future family can continue to work on.Rain is truly a sweet, funny, and loving girl who's just looking for patient people willing to help her continue building confidence. Once she feels safe, she's the kind of dog who will become a devoted member of the family.
