Ricky is proof that shy dogs can have the biggest hearts.Ricky came from a heartbreaking hoarding situation where he lived with more than 20 other dogs inside a camper. Despite his rough start, he hasn't let the past steal his joy. Instead, he's embracing every new experience and discovering just how good life can be.This gentle young pup may be a little shy when meeting new people, but every day he becomes a little braver. He's naturally curious and wants to trust—you can almost watch him building confidence one interaction at a time. His biggest source of confidence, though, is other dogs. Ricky absolutely adores them. Whether he's meeting new canine friends on walks or racing around the yard with his foster sibling, he lights up when another dog invites him to play. His favorite game is a good chase session, and he recently discovered stuffed toys, which have quickly earned a place on his favorites list.Ricky has been an absolute star in foster care. He's had zero accidents so far, figured out the dog door after watching the resident dog use it just once, and now confidently lets himself outside whenever he needs to go. His foster describes him as "wicked smart," and it's easy to see why.A home with another confident, playful dog would be ideal for Ricky. He learns by watching, gains reassurance from his canine companions, and blossoms a little more every day.Sweet, thoughtful, playful, and incredibly gentle, Ricky is the kind of dog who just needs someone willing to give him a chance—and he'll reward that patience with unwavering loyalty. They were rescued from a shelter in New Mexico.Meet and greets are by appointment only. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
