This sweet Mama cat had a difficult road to get to us. She was brought in with another Mama cat (London) and between them a total of five kittens. They were the lucky ones chosen from a farm/outdoor colony out of a very large number of cats, a family member was working to help them or at least spay/neuter those she could catch/trap. We appreciate her efforts as the spay/neuter of even ONE cat, helps save hundreds from a very difficult outdoor life and (typically) early death
Paris is said to be the Mama of four out of the five kittens, although both London and Paris treated all of the kittens like they were their own and co-raised/nursed all of them. All of the kittens are now doing well and these Mamas are ready for a new start! Paris and London were aged by our vet, based on their very petite size we thought they were much younger cats (kittens). Paris is the more outgoing of the two. She also took the most active role with the kittens. Paris seemed to understand (and love) London and was protective of the kittens but also of London. Paris was able to carry a bit more of the kitten "raising" burden, and also was the first to let us know how much she appreciated our assistance. Paris is so loving, she will follow you around until you have time to "talk to her" and give her some much needed affection. We are always amazed by cats like Paris (and London) as to how after everything they have endured, they still have so much love! Paris arrived missing an eye, yes read again, entirely missing one eye. Her surrenderer was unsure on how/when it happened but it did not seem to hinder Paris's love and care for the kittens. When Paris was spayed, she also had a procedure to surgically close the eye socket. This allowed the area to heal and will prevent any future infections so Paris can truly move forward to a happy HEALTHY new life. Paris will fit into most any family due to her mellow and affectionate personality, BUT if you have room for two, London and Paris are really a perfect pair. They love each other so much and are so close we wonder if they were also litter mates before they became co-parents. Either way if you are looking for a sweet, young little lady, Paris (and/or London) is your girl!
As Paris continues to adjust to her new indoor kitty life we continue to fall in love with this girl. As we said previously, the vet ages her at around five years old, but she seems to be embraces the kitten life she was probably never able to enjoy. She loves toys, she runs around the shelter like crazy, and has to know what we are doing at all times (she is just so curious). Paris has really come to enjoy life and we can't wait until she finds the perfect family willing to show her what that is like as well.
